★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Bike Rental was very good. Location can be reached by Bus or Taxi from Hualien Station for around 200 NTD. Our Bikes were old but okay for driving along the beach. The cost per bike was 150NTD per day. 4 hours are sufficient for a relaxed journey on the Qixingtan bike route.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are two types of adult single-seater bicycles. For a full day it's NT$150 for the heavier sturdier mountain bikes or beach bikes. NT$200 for these lighter bikes. The lighter bikes are good when you have to push them up steep hills if you're going south, but they're slower.
The guy who worked at the shop was super nice - we asked for help calling a taxi and he happily obliged. 10 minutes later when he saw us sitting around he took the initiative to help us call the taxi again and later even brought out 2 bottles of cold water for us! We were blown away by his kindness.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The guy who was working alone that day (he mentioned his boss wasn't around) was super chill and nice. He helped us call our cab after we were done with cycling and then checked on it of his own volition after he saw us still waiting around. The dude even spotted us free water.
About the bikes -- 150 for the heavier, older types and 200 for the lighter but smaller wheeled ones. There's a bit of carrying the bikes on parts of the path to the right (when facing the shop) so you might want to consider the lighter ones.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cycling along Chisingtan isn't as smooth as what I would like it to be. Due to the typhoon, the track isn't ideal. There are steps where you need to carry your bicycle. The honest owner of the bike rental told us about the state of the track prior to us renting the bike. Regardless of the track condition, the ride is one of our highlights and we will do it again if we were to be back at Hualien
