The fried rice and braised pork rice is tasty and well cooked. The soups and soup dishes are comforting. An awesome alternative to the slightly more pricey buffet eatery across the road.

Excellent service and great food. We arrived late at night, expecting nothing to be open, but as we walked past this place, the lady inside ran over to us to ask us if we were ok. We said we were hungry and so she reopened her store just for us! It was very very kinda and really helped us out. Thank you.

If you're not keen on patronising the more recommended steamboat buffet restaurant most of the local tour guides tend to tout, this is definitely the place to go. Food is both affordable and good. If you're not sure what to pick, their fried rice and braised meat rice are safe (yummy!) choices. No pics from me cuz the other reviewers/contributors have more or less posted enough pics to allow you to gauge what to expect.

Just been here before catching a train to Taipei. Host/ Chef answered "only beef noodle and friend rice (in English)" , when I requested a menu. - easy options for non-Chinese-speaking tourist. Besides, it was perfect options as well! The host struggled to answer with words of "everyone different" when I asked "which one is better" and finally suggested "beef (noodle soup)" so I ordered beef noodle. The beef noodle (NT$100) tasted like Korean beef soup with medium chewy noodle and beef melted down in my mouth. Far better than NT$200 beef noodle I tried in Taipei. It was yum! So I added fried rice (NT$65) so I could finish whole soup. I finished them all, truly all, to let host say "you are hungry" hahaha...yes, I am a big eater but it was your great food to make this! This restaurant is must have in Xincheng! Personally, it was a bit hard to find, though, in fact, this restaurant is very easy to find. This restaurant can be found on left hand side when you get out the main entrance of Xincheng station - but you cannot see the sign when you actually approach to the restaurant. - please check the faded sign with arrow on the photo.
