Both routes are recommended to be led by someone with outdoor climbing equipment and rappelling experience to be safer. If you don’t have rock climbing experience and equipment, you can only get a glimpse of the Elephant Trunk Tunnel from the right in and right out. The geology of the Suhua Highway is relatively fragile. Most sections of the old Suhua Highway have the problem of falling rocks and collapses. Those who want to go must wear a helmet and pass through the broken zone and collapsed area as soon as possible, and pay attention to the falling rocks at all times. It is recommended to go there when the weather is fine.
