斜頂式建屋，屋頂以箭竹排列再外覆鐵皮，牆柱則以木材建構。阿美族的傳統建屋大都是座西朝東，但這座古屋坐南朝北，因為之前道路拓寬而遷移，並非原始的座落位置
馬太鞍古屋群所在之武昌街為原住民族文化推展造街之據點，連接武昌街街尾之軍營，即豐年祭會場 ，整體營造老部落新風貌。
The Mataan Old House was built in 1924. The most complete traditional Ami wooden house in Hualien is preserved.
The roof is built with sloping roof, the roof is arranged with arrow bamboo and then covered with iron sheet, and the wall pillars are constructed with wood. Most of the traditional houses of the Ami people were built west to east, but this old house faces south to north. It was moved because of the previous widening of the road. It was not the original location.
Wuchang Street, where the ancient houses of Matai'an are located, is a stronghold for the promotion of aboriginal culture. It is connected to the military camp at the end of Wuchang Street, the harvest festival venue, and creates a new look for the old tribe as a whole.

Mata Ang House was built in the early years of the Republic of China. It is the Matai-Sai tribe in Guangfu Township, Hualien County. It is the most complete preserved ancient house. It has a very rich collection. It is worth a look at it. It is very good!
