Amazing scenery and flowers... The drive up and down the mountain is a bit dangerous with all the passing cars, but definitely worth it. Go during the summer months to see the day lilies.

It must be great during flower season or off season if the weather is good. But please be advised, it’s not recommended to go under the bad weather (we went there not even in rainny day, only cloudy) , the road is covered by fog, need to mind the falling stones and crossing cars as some part of road are not wide enough, foggy only made it more difficult. And when got up the top, can see nothing but only fog, go there when the weather is good. ?☀️

A very good place to visit. The weather is a little cooling and the flowers here are so beautiful! But driving along the road might be challenging. Its too narrow and very steep.

There is still the sea of golden day lilies this week. Extremely beautiful. The flowery season is said to end in early September. The only problems are flooding tourists and the traffic congestion. It’s highly recommended to visit recently on weekdays.

Beautiful mountain with splendid views. Although is not the flowering season, but is compensated by less crowd. Friendly local people who's willing to share and talk to you. Nice and highly recommended.

Heard about this place for a long time. We missed the blossoms season two years ago and finally made it this time. It’s a magnificent view with all these flowers covering mountains. Actually, only portion of them are being kept for sightseeing to have flowers. Other portions are for farming purpose to have the flower buds removed, dried and sold in a bag. One if famous cuisine is to cook soup with spare rib.

9/29/2020 We went when it was a bit rainy. The fog covered most of the mountains but still such beautiful sight to see. We're told we were a bit late to the flower season (best early September) but glad we didn't have to fight the crowd. Minus one star: It was difficult (and expensive) for us to get up the mountain since we don't drive or scooter. We ended up having to call a local taxi to bring us up the mountain which cost us NTD$1400 round trip. Wish there was a public transportation in place to take us up from the train station or nearby locations - I believe that would significantly improve traffic issues as well as ease of visitors. And lastly, at every tourist attraction there are always tourists who are super loud, obnoxious, and disrespectful to the environment. In this case, tourists who trampled through the flowers to get the "perfect shot." It's a shame those people exists everywhere. Overall it was a great experience, I highly recommend anyone to visit during/not during flower season.

Beautiful place but hot as hell haha, there are a few pavilions that offer some respite when the breeze hits. I went all the way to the highest pavilion, there were people gathering the flower buds, makes for a very interesting view. Some people call this place the little Switzerland of Taiwan. Remember your sunscreen and know that if you wander into the middle of the flower patches to get a worthy looking photo, know that the pollen from the flowers very likely will get on your clothes or your hands and feet but it’s minimal. Just a heads up for people wearing black or white clothing!
