Ai Shang Cafe

Great place for a proper cup of coffee. The owners care about their product and your experience. When I was there there was great soft jazz music on in the background.

December 18. Went there at 11:15 am and inquired through the half open door whether they were open yet, and was told not. I pointed at the opening hours on the door which said 11 am open. They replied that they were still preparing. What worth does a small business have if its staff are rude and unwelcoming?

Because of the narrow shop space squeezed into the love of father, mother, daughter, grandmother, that makes their coffee tastes extraordinary. If there weren't the grandma and the little girl who are always in the store, this cafe would be nothing but another cafe with good coffee.

Really lovely background music and you can already smell the coffee once you put a single foot inside!!

The owners put in a lot of effort but didn’t really enjoy the medium roast coffee. If you do like matcha cake, it’s a must try!!

Really cosy. An excellent smell of coffee in the shop. The coffees are excellent, with a deep taste. We had Italian Capuccino with Expresso, and Oreo Frapuccino, they were all extremely good. The cakes are small but very tasty and seems homemade.

The attendant (maybe the owner) is very kind and helpful. Though the environment is comfortable and clean, it’s a quite small (only 3 tables for 2 are available) and 2 balconies maybe could fit more 6 people. 7 single origin specialty coffees are offered, where 2 are 90+ from Panama (Percy Geisha and Lycello Geisha) and mostly are light roast (very light). I have tried Lycello Geisha, and it was good, though the main Geisha attributes were not so bright (maybe it’s because of light roasting?). All the coffees are roasted in-house. So, you could find a roasting machinery in the coffee shop. Light meal and some hand-made sweets are offered. You could enjoy good coffees there, but not recommended for chatting, since the music is a quite loud. Anyway, it’s worth to try their coffee when you are close by.

Lovely small coffee shop, with great coffee and environment good for a chit chat if. What I liked: * The coffee tasted excellent, you could tell they use high quality beans. * The tiramisu, although in my opinion could be more bitter, nonetheless tasted pretty good. *Owner was kind all around, service was quick. *The small dimensions of the shop make it a nice play for a chat with friends. Extra observations: *I would pick different music for the background, but I guess playing pop music is a safe bet and you won't probably even notice it since it plays softly. *Chairs aren't the most comfortable. *Since it is a good place to chat if you are looking for quietness perhaps you won't find it. I will definitely go back again and try their other beans and desserts. I recommend this place.
