新天山茶業Alishan Tea Homestay

The homestay is situated right on the main road up to Alishan, had comfortable rooms and delicious fresh breakfast. The best part, though, was the owners Dany and Dora who got in touch a few days before our stay with information regarding getting there and made arrangements accordingly. If you are going by public transport, they offer to pick you up too! Dora was extremely helpful and helped me book my bus tickets to Taipei as the website was in Chinese. We were happy with the location as we had our own car so it was easy to get to the restaurants and 7-11 about 5 minutes drive up from the homestay. Alishan forest recreation area was about a 30 minutes drive and Fenqihu and the beautiful tea and bamboo trails in Shizhou are 15-20 minutes by car.

Dany and Dora have been great ! Helpful and knowledgeable about the area, things to do and to eat. Their family-made tea is really good and so local! Even the tea tasting experience was extremely informative and pleasant. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the location is close to all interesting sights of the Alishan area. Well recommended !

I highly recommend the Alishan Tea Homestay. From the moment we arrived until check-out, it felt like we were at home, due to the kind and warm hospitality of the hosts. The hosts are a family, Dany, Dora, their children and grandparents. It was very warming for us to be able to interact with their family. The hosts made sure we knew where to park as well as always having a parking spot (being in the mountains there is not a lot of parking), they ensured we took safe roads when travelling in the area (the roads are quite daunting) and explained the areas to go to. During our stay, it was quite loud from some of the other guests, however it was also during Chinese New Year that we stayed, so this is understandable. The rooms were comfortable, well equipped, and clean!!! Additionally, their home-brewed tea is to die for - definitely need to try it. If we return to this area, we will be sure to stay here again. We had a great time staying at the Teahouse. Dany and Dora were friendly and amazing hosts. We got upgraded to a larger room when we arrived and they gave us plenty of recommendations on what to do whenever we weren't visiting Alishan. We stayed Sun-Wed so there weren't many visitors in the area, and therefore Dany was offering to drive us around the nearby area and could pick us up after our hikes. We did some tea tasting at the Teahouse, afterwards Dany brewed a batch of tea for me while I was studying Chinese. Could not recommend this place enough. Thanks for the great stay!

A friend told me about this place and he was completely right, we had a very nice welcome abnd getting all the information in english also really helped a lot.

We stopped by the place to try some tea and we were surprised to be able to get all the explanations in perfect english, we were explained the whole process with some pictures also.

We had the most wonderful stay here and highly recommend it! Dany and Dora were incredibly kind and welcoming and went out of their way to help us in every way possible. The room was very clean and as described. Great location and Dany and Dora were excellent at communicating with us before and during our trip. A wonderful stay with a real family feel, rather than just a bland hotel, which we loved! Thank you so much and we hope to visit again soon!!
