★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great way to visit this underrated place is by car. There is a bridge and a short hike up the hill to the top of the observatory for a stunning view of city. Plus its windy too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Certainly a nice place to stop in Taichung if you’re in town. It’s a little tricky to find as you have to park your motorbike or leave your car on the main road and then walk down a footpath quite a ways to access it.
If you go, make sure to go on a day when it’s not hazy or the pollution isn’t bad. It clearly has a nice panorama of Taichung, but I went on a somewhat polluted day and the view was somewhat disappointing.
That said, this probably is the best place to watch the sunset in Taichung, unless you want to drive to the coast (about 45 minutes) to watch it over the ocean, also quite beautiful.
If I were to go again, I would bring a few beverages and snacks while watching the sunset and snapping a few pics here. Worth a visit if you’re in town and looking for a nice place to watch the sun set.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice views from the top and a nice park in general. Quite the walk from the city but loved to chill ob top and have a great coffee(bring your own) WC and water fountain present. Google guides you through the walk perfectly. Enjoy this good place.
