Hualien Martyrs’ Shrine was the Hualien Harbor Shrine during the Japanese Occupation a hundred years ago. It was later converted into a Martyrs’ Shrine, imitating the architectural style of northern China. .

First of all, you can stay on the Shangzhi Bridge to admire the Zhonglie Temple and the archway of the Zhonglie Temple from a distance. Shangzhi Bridge is an important bridge connecting the Hualien Loyalty Martyrs' Shrine. Its history can be traced back more than 100 years ago. It is the main worship route connecting the Japanese shrine with the highest divinity in the Hualien Port area during the Japanese occupation period: "Hualien Port Shrine". The most distinctive feature of the Shangzhi Bridge is the exquisite and lovely stone lion carvings on the bridge. Each stone lion has a different style, and under the bridge is the Meilun River flowing gently along the grass. From the bridge to the west, you can see the towering Central Mountains ~~~Seven Foot Chuanshan, Arashiyama, Kaliwan Mountains, and North Kaliwan Mountains. Walking across Shangzhi Bridge, there are dozens of stone stairs in front of me, and the arch of the Loyalty Hall stands towering in front of it. This arch is a Chinese antique palace building, very beautiful and solemn, especially suitable for taking pictures.

The antique-looking archway is my impression of the Martyrs' Shrine since I was a child. After I grew up and went to the military academy, I realized how meaningful it is to be placed in the Martyrs' Shrine, but the reason I come most often is that I can see half of it here. In an urban scene, some people may be afraid to come at night. After all, there are deceased people. Even if they have merit, their inner fear will naturally arise. Although I am not afraid, I do not recommend people to come at night. There are two reasons. One, when there are activities It is crowded with people, and it is not easy to walk and drive. Second, it is empty and dark when there is no activity. It is inevitable that some bad actors will be there. Who can guarantee your safety, so most people go there during the day, and this is also where many units hold activities. I believe that many people have participated in it. I saw a lot of women dancing there this morning. Instead of looking at me, it is better to experience it directly!
