★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cozy ambience, good lightning, menu selection was extensive. Hosts were welcoming enough and seated us well. The chairs were very uncomfortable. The griller was probably fueled by propane gas. Fire safety equipment storage was not clear incase of emergency. Not recommended for quiet family dinners as place seems to be too noisy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for a group for friends. Amazing beer and yakiniku vibe. Lots of selection of premium aged wagyu beef, asahi draft and Jim beam bourbon highball mixed drinks with soda and lime.
Must try the ox tongue grilled no1 on the recommendations, ox tail curry rice homey and hits the spot. We also had the soft shell crab salad very tasty, and the specialty is the beef diaphragm. Very unique, soft and tender.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I personally like Kanpai very much and have tried several chain restaurants. It’s the first time I ate in the restaurant during lunch time. It was quieter during lunch time than dinner time but the food quality was still great. The staffs were very friendly and unlike some staffs who might recommend expensive dishes in other chain restaurants, the staff didn’t recommend expensive dishes and let us order whatever we liked. It was cozy and comfortable.

Recommend to make appointment in advance and come around 7-8pm as they have a special happy hour sort of thing right at 8pm where they introduce each table (they will come asking before 8pm to know you and if you are celebrating anything) to everyone, and after that a refill is given for whatever drink you are having - essentially a buy one free one offer. They also have this meat giveaway thing if you take part in their kissing activity (just your table!) so couples certainly have the advantage here - they will likely take a photo of it.
