Baodao Niu Beef Noodle Restaurant

So strange that is got such poor rating having such an amazing taste, I love these noodles

Not bad for the price.

The interior is older looking and a bit dark. But hands down, this restaurant serves some of the BEST (pork & cabbage) dumplings and awesome beef noodles in Taipei. We've compared it to some of the native's favorite spots in Taiwan, and this place compares favorably to the best of them. I can understand how some gave this location a bad rap, as the servers are not really people oriented and may not smile a lot. But once you get to know them, they are pretty cool. (For comparison's sake, we've also twice been to the ZhongLi Lao Pai Beef Noodle restaurant in ZhongLi on YongFu Road. We're also on a quest to find better beef noodle restaurants throughout Taiwan!) Even though the Shida Night Market is tiny and easily overlooked, do yourself a favor and give some of their dishes a try. It is simply some of the BEST beef noodles you'll have in Taipei, and perhaps in Taiwan. We love to order the half tendon, half beef noodle soup. (半筋半肉) Some of their cold dishes are very tasty as well. I've also tried their dry style noodles, and they're also excellent. They have a chopstick sterilizing machine that seems pretty neat. In the summertime, they have air-conditioning and electric fans to keep you cool as well. Their pork and cabbage dumplings (when not broken) are really tasty even without sauces. The beef noodle broth is slightly spicy, but thankfully less than most other restaurants. After spending over a year visiting dozens of beef noodle soup restaurants, this one still stands amongst the best of them!

This restaurant was pretty dead on a Thursday night right around dinner time. I ordered a beef noodle soup. It was a tad bit salty and on the pricier side, but overall pretty normal. Also not a lot of meat...

The worst restaurant ever!!! I would give it a 0 star if I could. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. We ordered 3 bowls of beef noodle soup, and there were 5 of us who dined in. So we asked for two extra bowls. And they said they DO NOT HAVE ANY BOWLS, when there were actually A LOT of them. I would understand if she could tell me why they can't give us any extra bowls - but no. All they said was that they do not have any bowls. And worst of all, the food taste so BAD!! They were so bland. The people there were so rude. So, do not waste your precious time and money at this place.

THE worst restaurant of Taipei. No kidding, the dish comes out of a fridge! Beef noodle is cold and stinky. When asking the waiter, he has such a bad attitude. Never go there.

Lots of hate for this place! I went about 4p, no other customers. Big portions and friendly lady!.

Inexpensive noodles with exceptionally good taste. Dumplings are good. The small dishes (appetizer) with choices also tasty!
