★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Celebrated 冬至 here. Black sesame Tangyuan is decent, dough to sesame ratio is ok. If you haven’t tried the small ones before you can give it a shot.

Black sesame Tangyuan with peanut soup.
For $70, it’s not bad. Self service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good traditional desserts. There’s seating upstairs. The queue moves quickly. Come here if you’re near the Ningxia night market. There’s no English menu so it’s a bit hard to understand what the ingredients are or what’s seasonal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What I found out in Taiwan is that their meals have a little stronger sweet taste (which I love) and desserts have subtle sweetness compare to Japanese or other places’ food I’ve had. And that makes sense to calm down your stomach after meal, I guess? Anyway this tofu pudding is a good example. It has light sweetness and taste. I felt healthy eating it even though the amount was big. I liked it but I have to say it’s not the place I would go when I’m craving suger.
