BeApe Restaurant

I saw this restaurant on a French YouTuber’s clip and decided to give it a try. The dishes I had tonight were all impeccable and palatable. Moreover, the vibe of it was quite homey and relaxing. If you want to try some authentic French cuisine, I highly recommend this one. Thanks the chef and waiters for the wonderful experience tonight.

The ambience is good but doesn't feel warm and cozy. Food is well presented, with good portions, but tasting just okay. Definitely overpriced, which doesn't make worth to go again. Overall, didn't meet expectation.

I have tried hundreds of restaurant with Raw Oyster and this time, they have the worst raw oyster ever!!!!!! Omg you spent so much money and get something like dead for almost a month…so horrible experience ever And their frog leg is super terrible too The meat texture is very dead and dry, so as their duck leg The sauce is good but the main stuffs are all terrible Don’t know why they can exist for such a long time and waste my money, stomach, mood, life …..etc Tea is weird too God, please save me from this horrible place…..

Overall is quite good!! My order as my share photos, 250ml house white, two oysters, lamps, Belgium potato chips. The price is slightly a bit highly as $2xxx. The oysters are very fresh. The lamb chops are delicious and tender as well as cooked just right. The house white is not too fruity. The Belgium potato chips taste good although nothing special. The waiters is very polite and responsible but slightly mechanical.

1 star for the chef and the quality of the food. Its really good. But not sufficient for a good rating. Too many perfectible points. When the price is high, expectations are high, and BeApe doesn't live up to expectations as of today. I had a big frustration during my time there. There is a dinner formula that is mandatory. On the principle, this is not an issue and the choice is great. The formula is big, you're gonna end up really stuffed for the regular stomach. However there are some à la carte dishes as well. They are very appealing, and I was dreaming about the French sausage and fries. I actually came there in the first place for this dish! But since the formula is mandatory and does not include these "à la carte" dishes, you have to oder them on top of the full courses formula. It's unreasonable and impossible to finish. You have to spend more money on an extra dish if it appeals you, but it's humanly impossible to finish everything. The principle of à la carte starters and dishes should be to be able to choose to order à la carte INSTEAD OF a formula, to compose your menu as you please. If the volume matters, it's fair to impose a minimum order amount for à la carte order, I wouldn't have any issue with that. But here, the restaurant leaves you no choice. Formula mandatory, any à la carte is a complément only, and you will waste food because it's not humanly possible to eat a full course formula + extra dishes. I've never seen this in any restaurant, and it leaves a pretty bad feeling. This beautiful address would be perfect if either they allowed more flexibility in the choice of your courses, or simply wouldn't propose extra dishes that no stomach can handle after being stuffed by a mandatory full courses formula. Edit : also the service is very perfectible, the staff was busy serving some party or "business customers" in a private room at the back of the restaurant and didn't pay much attention to the main room. I had to stand and go by myself as the bar to ask for service, just to ask silly stuff like bread, salt (no salt and pepper on the table, pardon me what?) or napkins. When you pay this type of price, you expect at least an attentive and available service. Bad point here.

As a vegetarian, I have to say it’s not worth the price, but I’m still glad they offered the option (only one though). The main had a particular spice and I didn’t like the sour taste, otherwise the food and drink are nice, just not worth one grand… The entrance is a bit gloomy and easy to miss, but the good thing is there’s a parking tower right outside across the street.
