Don't drive in if it's okay. The roadbed is full of dirt and gravel, very small, and there is no room to turn around until you drive halfway through the mountain. Scared me! ?

The air is good and there are many dragonflies, but the river bed is under repair, and the road is under repair. During the epidemic, the trail will not be open for the time being~ Friends who have recently arranged arrangements should consider~

The entire section of the Xiongkong Crossing Ridge to the Wulai Red River Valley and the entire section of the Crossing Ridge Trail need to cross valleys and mountains, which is more suitable for experienced climbers. In some sections of the road, the water is high and cannot be high. It will get wet with hiking shoes, and you may need river-tracking shoes or rain boots to be more suitable. The Xiongkong section of the valley is cool and pleasant. It will not be too hard to simply visit here, but heavy rain and typhoons will change the river course, and visitors should pay attention to whether there will be afternoon thunder showers during the rainy season and pay attention to safety. The old cross-ridge trail that goes forward to the Jiajiuling Red River Valley intersects with the traditional areas of the aborigines, and you can enjoy the historical and cultural relics and the beauty of the broad-leaved forest. Some paths are relatively unobvious and poor reception. Experience or detailed map reading and direction identification are required. There are locusts in some areas, so be careful. Take public transportation and take bus 803 from the Three Gorges to the Red River Valley. There are fewer trains. If you plan to turn back on the original route, you must pay attention to the time. If it is from the Red River Valley, there will be more bus schedules, so there is no need to worry.

The ecology is rich, and stars can be seen at night. However, there is no toilet here. If you want to walk up and down, you have to go to the bathroom first.

It is a pretty hard trail for people who do not have hiking boots because the path is wet and muddy since part of the trail is along the river. Have to be super careful! We got to some peak, but don’t think it was Maokong peak. I think this would be a great place to go to during the summer when it’s warmer because the water won’t be as cold (if you fancy a swim). Once you arrive at the bridge, don’t try to take your scooter or car across the bridge and into the path because it becomes more narrow and rocky - better to walk up to the “start” of the trail, which probably takes about 30-45 min depending on how fast you walk.
