The righteous people refer to the people who sacrificed to protect the place. The Beigang Yimin Temple enshrines the righteous people and dogs who were martyred in the Lin Shuangwen incident during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. According to legend, there are 108 righteous people and 1 loyal dog. Jingyi was built in the 53rd year of Qianlong (1788). The pavilion serves as an ancestral temple dedicated to the Yimin Gong and the Yi Dog General, and May 30 in the lunar calendar, where the Yi people and the Dogs died, was used as the date of the Yimin Temple's ritual. Later, the 36 righteous people who died in the Dai Chaochun incident during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty were added to Jiang Jing. Yiting Pavilion was renamed Yimin Temple. Beigang Yimin Temple is a "tomb and temple in one" building. The tomb of the Yimin in the Lin Shuangwen incident is located behind the Mingjian of the main hall. The tombstones are directly inlaid on the back wall of the Mingjian of the main hall of the Yimin Temple. The ancestral temple and the tomb are two. They are closely connected, and the Yimin tombs of the Dai Chaochun incident are located on the left and right sides of the Yimin Temple. The plan layout of the main building belongs to the architectural pattern of two walls with protective rooms. There are no corridors and inner corridors between the Sanchuan Gate and the main hall, forming a coherent space, making the interior dark and solemn.

The so-called "righteous people" were originally people of righteousness. The "righteous people" in Taiwan's folk beliefs refers to the people's army who sacrificed to defend their hometown during fighting, civil commotion, and war. This kind of situation happened most often in the Qing Dynasty, because the Han people who came to Taiwan from Tangshan at that time were mainly Minnan people and Hakkas in Quanzhou and Zhangzhou. Each ethnic group had a strong geographical consciousness, and they often came from themselves and themselves. Migrants of different origins are marginalized, so they often trigger disputes and even expand into fighting. Therefore, it is necessary to fight against each other in order to defend their homeland. In addition, in the Qing Dynasty, Taiwan suffered a small rebellion every three years and a major chaos in five years. The resistance to the people continued to change. Therefore, in this turbulent era, it is even more necessary to be able to protect and maintain local order and even assist the government in restoring disorder. Especially during the Qianlong period, when the Lin Shuangwen incident and the Dai Chaochun incident occurred, both the Quanzhou and the Hakka Han people formed a volunteer army to resist Zhang Shuangwen and Dai Chaochun. At the time of Chen Zhouquan's incident, a rebel army of the Han people in Zhangzhou went to suppress Chen Zhouquan in Quanzhou. In addition, the Aboriginal people also organized the Yimin Army in various incidents to assist in the peace. Therefore, Zhang, Quan, Ha, and the original four ethnic groups all received Qianlong or awarded plaques or names. For example, the "Zhongzhong Pavilion Yimin Temple" in Hsinpu, Hsinchu County was awarded the "Zhongzhong" plaque; the original Zhuluo The county Zhangzhou Yimin was given the name and changed to "Chiayi" County; even the aboriginal people were awarded the "Effectiveness" plaque. And the "Beigang Yimin Temple" introduced this time is the Quanzhou native Yimin, who was awarded the "Jingyi" plaque. Therefore, Beigang Yimin Temple was founded in the 53 years of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1788 AD), and was then called "Jingyi Pavilion". It was rebuilt in the second year of Qing Dynasty (1863 AD) and renamed "Yimin Temple". It is a national third-level monument.

The building is simple and the temple is hidden in the alley with a comfortable atmosphere. There is a presidential plaque in it. In particular, there is a lamp praying for pets on the side of the righteous dog.

Beigang Yimin Temple is to worship the righteous people who died in the Lin Shuangwen incident and Dai Chaochun incident. On the right side of the temple’s apse, the righteous dog general is worshipped. It was the righteous dog who fought with the Yimin Regiment against the enemy and sacrificed in the war. It is also said that the righteous dog died. The generals can protect children, and parents often bring their children to surprise them. There are also special lights for pets in the temple. Many pet owners who love "hairy children" come to light the lights, which is also one of the characteristics of the temple. The overall maintenance and renovation of the environment in the temple is quite good. The lighting projection in the temple also creates a good atmosphere. The whole is antique and it is also close to the Chaotian Temple in Beigang. Lord Yoshimin and General Yoshihide~
