It is a very nice restaurant. The food is refined and the ambiance is very relaxing. The service is impeccable. They need to improve their wine list by the glass. I think there are many better choices to offer to reflect the same level of the food and the experience. The portions need to be improved a bit. They are too small. It is good for a prix fixed menu but not for a la carte. Finally the tiramisu is good but the amount of coffee poured over is to much and kills the balance of the taste.

Great decor, high ceilings, excellent service, very attaintive! Starting with the bread, it had a nice crust and soft and chewy inside, just delicious. Our two appetizers were also tasty and refreshing. The main courses, though kind of small portions, were flavorful, cooked just right. Authentic! All ingredients tasted very fresh! Really enjoyed it!

Great vibes and environment. The starter bread is very very very good! Enjoyed the lobster pasta and the yellow fin tuna capaccio. Burrata were kinda plain for me, tiramisu was great and the chocolate was a bit too sweet. Drink selection were good. I had a glass of white wine , vintage port and ordered the amafi skyway cocktail( which taste like cough drop) I won’t order this one for sure, but I would order the port again.

We had 4 course dinner menu. 1. Bread: The bread was great with a broad selection of olive oil and vinegar. 2. Antipasti: Wagyu beef tongue and burrata cheese with tomato were great! Beef tartare was a bit pulpy, however, the sauce was delicious. 3. Pasta: tagliatelle with braised duck and agnolotti with Wagyu were delicous! Seafood risotto was average without surprise. 4. Secondi: Merluzzo (fish) and Wagyu with truffle were great! Seared garoupa fillet (another fish) was average; like those fish fillet you can order in any other restaurants; recommend not to order this dish as secondi. 5. Focaccino e mortazza was very special, but it is not an ordinary pizza; it was served cold with double crust. It would be great if the waiter can remind us when we ordered. (We would like to try hot pizza with melted cheese next time) 6. Dessert: tiramisu and sage tart are two must try! Very delicious with great presentation.

This is a place that I strongly suggest for fine diners to mark as a "must go" restaurant The ambience is great for both a business lunch or a get together social event. Bencotta is spacious with tables further apart compared to most premium restaurants giving diners privacy. The service is top notch. I wish to mention Ms SuSu especially for patiently explaining over conversation in between servings, items in the menu and the changes of main courses over the seasons. I find the information on the goodness of Grappa interesting and beneficial. Today, the "melt in the mouth" beef and Tiramisu are my favourites. Keep up the good work, Team M. O. Spring menu launched on 3/22 with some price increase. Still, worth every penny. (especially the octopus appetizer and the PASTA)

Luxurious and elegant Italian restaurant in the beautiful Mandarin Oriental hotel. This may be the best Italian restaurant in Taipei, but in any case everything we tried was extremely good, even exceptional. The bread, as many have said, is wonderful, pasta perfectly prepared, the eggplant appetizer was exceptional, and the garoupa was also perfectly prepared, and delicious. Nothing to complain about, and the service was excellent. The 4 course set meal is a bargain, in my opinion. We will be going back. This is one of the most enjoyable dining experiences in Taipei, and if you're foodies like us, a must try.
