The successful high school butterfly museum, also known as the Insect Museum, was maintained by Chen Weshou, who was originally retired from teaching at a successful high school. He was introduced by the current biotea teacher Hong Jingcheng. The museum houses more than 40,000 pieces of insect specimens, including many model specimens, yin and yang butterflies, and mutant species. It is one of the famous insect museums in Asia, and the specimens are quite abundant. In 2009, it moved into a new complex and the space was more spacious. Usually, you need to make an appointment in advance, and you will be open to the school during the school celebration every year, attracting many butterfly lovers and foreign visitors. With the support of the Taipei City Government's budget, in 1998, the new complex was finally completed, and the unique "Butterfly Palace and Insect Science Museum" was set up around the world. Its biggest feature is that in addition to the nature of the "Traditional Museum of Animals and Insects" and the "Insect Science Education Museum" of the old museum, it also shows the beauty and wonders of the "insects" created by the evolution of the natural ecosystem. It not only has the intellectual "truth" and rational goodness, but also has the sensuous "beauty" and becomes the world's first "Butterfly Art Museum". The "Butterfly Palace and Insect Science Museum" not only displays more than 40,000 specimens of butterflies and insects, but also reproduces concretely with multimedia and light shows and stereoscopic models. Half a century ago, Taiwan transformed from agricultural society to industry. There has been a close relationship between humans and butterflies in the world. At that time, the people collected tens of millions of butterflies every year, and constantly weaving beautiful stories and inexplicable world records, but also caused a terrible historical fact - the sacrifice of hundreds of millions of butterflies. However, it has not only enabled the poor indigenous people to get enough food and clothing, but more importantly, let the government have the ability and opportunity to develop the economy without any worries, and become a cornerstone of Taiwan’s economic take-off. These historical facts, which have been forgotten by people, are now vividly presented in the museum to cherish the hardships of the ancestors. Therefore, it can also be said to be the world's first "insect folk museum".
