I had the seafood porridge, which i thought was probably a fair indicator since it’s such a common dish. The seafood wasn’t the freshest by my standards, and the overall flavor wasn’t unique. Moreover, the price was honestly kind of high for what I thought to be an average meal; I’ve gotten better seafood porridge in Keelung for half the price! edit: I wanted to reflect the fact that the flavor of this porridge is honestly pretty good after having had more porridge in Taiwan; the clams were impressively large as well. That said, the 蚵仔 was very fishy and had some green (?) residue? Not the most enjoyable and I don’t know if this was intentional or not, and the shrimp wasn’t the cleanest either. But objectively it is better than the other porridge places I’ve eaten!

S	Sandy Hong on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you visit Hualien, you MUST come here!!!! I love seafood and this is some of the freshest, most flavorful dishes I’ve ever tasted. We had the crab seafood porridge, the octopus porridge (Black), shrimp grilled two ways: original and pepper, all with a Táiwān classic beer to finish it off. The owners are incredibly warm, welcoming and you can tell how much heart and soul they put into their cooking and service. Thank you! It was a memorable experience and I will definitely return.
