When most markets and stores in Taipei close relatively early, it is great to have a big supermarket that is open untik midnight (previously 2am). Also, store branded items here can be insanely cheap (6 pack of popsicles for 30 NTD!). The only drawback is that the store sometimes seems caught between worlds - not quite as cheap as local stores but has a relatively limited selection of non-local goods

They have five choice to clean and cut the fish, we asked for #5. The lady said she is not facing the sign, so she doesn't know what #5 is. She mean to tell me that she never come out of the counter and look at her counter display! They provide ice on a giant container. In a hot 36C date, obviously we want some ice to keep the fish fresh. Asked the lady for extra plastic bag. She said they don't provide plastic bag. But the fish is already in a zealed plastic bag. End up has to open up the zeal, put ice directly on top of the fish. When arrived home, end up the fish is soaked in ice water. I thought Carrefour management will be better than that.

I’m not crazy about the layout of the store, as it’s designed to make you pass by several small stores and as much product as possible before you actually get to the Carrefour itself. Small complaint though, as I understand other similar stores do this and it’s just a part of the culture. I can’t say it’s incredibly aesthetic or clean, but it wasn’t offensive in anyway either. I figure for a store such as this, as long as you can get what you want/need without too much hassle it’s a win in my book.

P	Paul on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent supermarket. I recommend visiting after the morning rush hour and on a weekday, so you’ll be able to relax and stroll around. Great fresh food section especially the bakery which has very good quality bread and pastries at great prices!
