Chateau Beach Resort - Hengchun Township

I have visited this place for the second time already and I don't regret my choice at all. Rooms are comfy and if you get a unit on the beach side...the ocean is than just outside your door. Take a swim in the morning in their swimming pool, get a nice beer and feel the breeze at night from your balcony. And just enjoy! An amazing resort with great facilities!

Very toddler friendly. The play area costs 100 ntd and is absolutely worth it. Got a free photo and bought the keychain. Private beach is wonderful but can't swim in it. They do lend out beach toys for playing in the sand. The shallow pool is super fun and the spa pool delightful. Cleaning staff is kind and friendly. I wish I could say the same about the receptionists; the English level is extremely low for a place visited so frequently by tourists. Sadly, many of the areas reek of cigarette smoke including the hallways. The room is musty and needs some updating. The breakfast buffet, tea time, and buffet dinner were outstanding and saved the day.

Thateau Beach Resort is the very famous tourist attraction. I never go to Kenting without visiting to this place. It is because you can not only do some sea activities such as swimming but also DIY there when I visited Thateau Beach Resort.

We spend two days there. Rooms are great and the spot is awesome in Kenting. A bit of wind by the time we were here but the staff is cool and breakfast offers a large choice of dishes.

Perfect location, perfect beach out the back of the resort. Great breakfast. However, dinner buffet is not recommended. Shuttle bus between the buildings within the resort but not to other places. Would be better if rooms are bigger.

Nice honey moon suite with breath taking view from balcony over the sea. Nice pool area with good views. A bit old and worn out place though. Seems maintenance doesn't happen that frequently. If you expect a place where you can order beverages and / or food to be delivered while eg. at the pool side or in your room, please select a different hotel. There is zero service of that kind, which is surprising considering the price level being pretty steep. The guests around us ordered food and drinks via ubereat from the nearest fast food restaurants... funny that the hotel let's this kind of business happen without offering alternatives and maximizing business inside the resort.

We stayed at the honeymoon room. The room was spacious, the views from the terrace and the bathtub are great. There’s a big downside in the room and it is the fact that it is too bright in the mornings, you can’t make it dark. The building and the facilities look dated. Although they have plenty of facilities… To us they fit more in a 3 star hotel category than in a 5. Avoid the breakfast, go somewhere else! Poor selection and quality.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now it's just OK, but not 5 star... More like a 3 or 4 star by international standards. It's worth staying here if you can get a room for less than NT$5000 purely based on the location and access to the beach, but I would be disappointed if I paid any more than that. The rooms are fine - clean, no strange smells for us, fairly modern, but nowhere near enough plug sockets. The hotel exterior is starting to show its age though. The main problem I have is the lack of services. There's no room service and reception don't even answer the phone when you call. The beach bar is outsourced to a subcontractor who only opens when he feels like it - there's no set schedule and the hotel staff have no idea if or when it will be open. In the 4 nights I have stayed here, it has been open for one night and the overpriced cocktails weren't great anyway. The cafe was also closed for the duration of our stay, probably for the same reasons. The water activities are only available when the hotel is busy, and I was told I couldn't even rent a bodyboard because there weren't enough guests, which didn't make much sense to me. For the prices they charge, all of the facilities and activities should be available all of the time, especially for a 5-star resort.
