Nice pastry store in the city with famous pineapple cake. Idea for picking up some souvenirs. There is usually a line outside the store, although the wait is not that bad.

They are very organized yet very packed with tourists. The cashier queue was very long. Their pineapple cake and the one with salted egg tasted nice though the cake and the filling were too dry to hold it together so it got messy everytime I eat it.

This place is a long tradition of one of the better pineapple cakes in TW. They also have other tasty pastries such as wife cake, sun cakes, egg tarts, nougats etc. all worth a try. There is always a line but they do manage it pretty well. If you already know why you want fill out the form and head to the registers. They will fill our order without having to pick up the items one at a time. Of course if you want to take a look at everything they have displayed and individual items as well. They also have a delivery service that will send it to a location of your choice for a small fee so you don’t have to lug it around. They will also do a packing service for you in the left side of the store. Note - now a days there are pretty good pineapple alternatives in TW so if you don’t want to battle the crowds you can try some place such as sunny hill. These can be found in Taipei 101 shopping areas. Quicktip: in some some 7/11 stores line in Ximending you can fine Chia Te items. Just be aware of the expiration dates though.

Chia Te Bakery sells tasty and authentic Chinese sneak, pineapple cake! They have not only traditional one but all kinds of taste in my pictures. They have more than just pineapple cakes but also different Chinese sneaks. As a Taiwanese, this is one of my personal favorite brand of pineapple cake in Taiwan. I bring this aboard as a gift to my friends every time. Highly recommended to buy this if you visit Taiwan! Love it.

Great selection of pastries and yummy pineapple cake. One of the iconic, and popular brand for pineapple cake. Sometimes there is a long waiting line, so go there early. It's great to buy this brand as souvenir, but other brands doesn't taste bad, it's cheaper as well.

Never been there in person but my parents/relatives always bring home a lot of ChiaTe after visited Taiwan. Their pineapple cake is very soft and has generous filling. The pineapple filling taste great, not to sweet. In Indonesia we have similar cake called "nastar" but it's smaller :D
