Hiroshima Airport handling -Professional service Frankly speaking China Airlines is nearly our last choice, happened that they are the only Airline servicing between Hiroshima and Taipei. The most impressive of this flight start from the check in services at Hiroshima airport, believe it was handled by Japan Airlines, it was a 99.9% full on this flight (cannot inderstand why Japan Airlines or All Nippon Airlines do not operate this sector). We enjoyed the obsvervation about Airlines handling, particular on the full flight. The check-in was smooth, courteous, detailed and with passion, the staff name Saito san (do hope I spell it correctly, around 30s young man). The most impressive action they taken was, at the time nearer the flight close they were few passengers didn't show up the flight, he went out at least 3 times to the security line (where there was China Eastern Airlines flight share the the line), he patientionly repeat to double check if there is any China Airline passengers on the queue, while the same time the supervisor was trying the contact and locate the remaining passenger, the spirit of never give up until the very last minute, do hope everyone able to get on the flight as planned.

Just flew from Canada to Taiwan, I ordered the bbq pork and rice on the plane , looked at the sign to confirm it was just bbq pork and rice, I opened it up and there's a Shrimp right on top , thanks goodness you saw it because I'm deathly allergic to shellfish..... I brought it to the crews attention that I would have died in 10 min if I ate any of this meal, and all they seemed to care about was getting me other food, not even understanding that I could have been a corpse at 35,000 feet and there's no way to save me...... 1 flight attendant said she'd bring it to head office attention, when I landed and told a supervisor they didn't seem to care at all...... Be careful with this airline if you have food allergies that can kill you

The worst airline in the world. Today there is a strike by crew. The airline management doesn't publicly announced. There is one print out in the transfer counter. No manager ever shows up to help angry flyers. The only people available are low level agents without any authority to solve the issues. I will never fly China Airline again.

In between 3 to 4 star. My Flight experienced Trip: I flew from new york city to penang malaysia with my 2 years old. RT econ ( short transit time in taipei ) / return ( 18 hours layover) am able to get a comp hotel stay at Monard plaza in taoyuan city which i really really appreciate as am traveling with toddler. ❤️ ?? for this i gave 4 stars Inflight: cabin crew were generally friendly but can be better. Kind of spacious seats ( am 5”3 ), Food is on the smaller portions so am not getting full on my 1st leg ( kind of pity though as usually on a different airlines am usually full ( ANA/SQ ) ) . Taste wise. Hope they can improve in the future. I might fly with CI again if there is a good price .

The girl at the counter for baggage drop was super rude and unprofessional. She took her time and was the last to start amongst the other staffs at the counter. She asked for my passport and I asked her if she needed both of my passports. And she replied with, “of course both.” AS IF EVERYBODY SHE ENCOUNTERS SHOULD KNOW THAT ALREADY. Secondly, I bought an extra luggage online to make her job easier and if I didn’t remind her she’ll most likely charged me for it again. She replied with a “oh you did?” And kept asking me is it for yourself. Uhhh yeah no it’s for the stranger behind me. Honestly, this “baggage drop” experience was no better or faster than regular check-in. We were the first ones there and everyone else at the other check-in lines were done way before us. She still had to check all of our documents. It’s definitely not as simple as “baggage drop.” More like “you’re gonna get checked over and over again until we are pleased.”

We bought some tickets from a travel agency (travel2be), from Billund Airport (Denmark, BLL) to Taipei (Taiwan, TPE) with 2 transits, 1 in Frankfurt (Germany, FRA) and 1 in Shanghai (China, PVG) with a departure date on 19th July, and the home departure date on 26th July. When we arrived in Shanghai, we had 2 hours to get to our flight from Shanghai to Taipei. Unfortunately we missed the flight, by the cause of the long queue at the immigration, and that we had to check our baggage in once again, and the long way we had from terminal 1 to terminal 2. When we arrived at terminal 2, an airport staff asked if we were going to Taipei, we told her yes, then she told us to follow her, and she led us to the counter. Then the staff behind the counter, told us that we missed the flight, and that we had to buy new tickets. They threatened us, and forced us to buy new tickets, because they asked us if we had a Chinese visa (which we did not have), and told us we only had 24 hours, or else we were in China illegally, if we didn’t fly today. We asked if there was another way, or we maybe could speak to the airline that we were supposed to fly with from Shanghai to Taipei, but they said that there was no other way, than buying 3 new tickets (Which is very bad and misguided advice). We then bought the tickets for a total price of 12822 CNY!!! When we arrived at Taipei, we asked China Airlines (The airline that we were supposed to fly with, but as I mentioned, we missed the flight unfortunately) if we could use our return ticket back to Billund (Denmark, BLL). They told us that we couldn’t, because we missed the flight. They then asked us why we didn’t contact China Airlines, and we explained that they said that the only thing we could do, was to buy new tickets. My mom and my sister, who was travelling with me, didn’t get any sleep on July 20th & July 21th, because we spent two whole days to sort out this problem with the return tickets! The day before we were heading home, our return tickets were not confirmed, i don't know why. Then we took the taxi to the airport to fix this. We got my aunt to call Lufthansa, and she called like 6 times, and they told us that the tickets were confirmed, and we just had to call China Airlines, so they could do the final step. But we couldn't get in contact with them, so we approached the China Airlines counter, and we met the staff from the other day that helped us (Sydney Kuo & I-yu Chen). They told us to wait, while they were fixing it. It took a little while with some help from their supervisor, which i didn't get the name off, but they were so helpful, and we could return to Denmark safely and comfortable again, with a nice seat upgrade also!

After scumbag United Airlines cancelled our return flight to the US, China Airlines in cooperation with JAL were able to return us home. The China Air was extremely clean and efficient, best air crew available, food was outstanding. I will always try to use China Air when ever possible.

Very bad customer service and it’s probably badly managed overall. I always flew Eva when possible for the better safety ranking ( Yes EVA ranks a lot higher in terms of safety) and customer service. Had to fly China Airlines because it’s the only direct flight to Germany- the worst experience at check-in already. A) I was flying alone with a 2 yr old toddler and they told me to pay $400 if I want to bring my stroller. The personnel at the check in counter said the plane was full and they couldn’t make accommodations- it turned out there are less than 20 passengers on the flight and they couldn’t let me bring a stroller on board. B) I asked if they could arrange some help for my connecting flight because again, I am traveling alone with a small child (without stroller, thanks to them) and the terminal is far away. They didn’t do anything —which they should’ve booked an airport shuttle vehicle for me. We missed the connecting flight in the end because I had to carry my son to walk through 40 gates in the airport of Frankfurt. (Many of the 5 star reviews below are fake without any real content, watch out!)
