National Kaohsiung University, referred to as "Tall University", is a comprehensive university located next to the Nanzi Processing Zone in Kaohsiung City. Founded in 2000, the Faculty of Science includes the Department of Applied Mathematics (2000), the Department of Applied Chemistry (2001), the Department of Life Science (2001), the Department of Applied Physics (2002), and the Institute of Statistics (2003).
The development characteristics of the institute are application-oriented. Teachers not only have specialized and cross-disciplinary teaching or research.

The Department of Applied Chemistry currently has a total of about 220 students (including university departments and master's classes), a total of 12 teachers, four major subjects-organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, all have their own majors.
