Cultural Heritage Park - South District

It is a cool place to enjoy particularly in summer days with insects’ songs. People also can discovery their understandings on science during conferences and exhibitions. If one likes to take pictures or selfie, it is an ideal place to enjoy. People can enjoy Taiwanese drinks and food around the place.

1-2 hours visit near Taichung Old station, interesting exhibition from photography, calligraphy, wood work, ceramics, traditional interior and instruments,... great place for design inspiration. Highly recommended!

Old brewery buildings converted into various exhibition halls with different events being held all the time. It's not like there's something super exciting to attract the tourists, but considering its not far from the station, it's definitely worth a visit. Also just next to the 3rd market to grab some food to take away. The park has benches, rubbish bins and public toilets.

Really cool exhibits and sculptures around the facility! Everything out is free to check out and is definitely worth the time! My real review is about how amazing the people here are! I was here checking things out and taking a lot of pictures using my phone. I didn't notice but my wallet fell out of my pocket one of the times I took my phone out to take a picture. I noticed my wallet missing a few hours later and panicked. With low expectations, I had a translator help call Cultural Heritage Park and they said someone turned something into lost and found. I described everything I had in my wallet and then they confirmed they had it. Someone turned my wallet in to lost and found! I immediately head back to the facility and claim my wallet. I had a student ID with the phone number for the language school I was attending and they tried contacting the school to get the wallet back to me! Super awesome help! Go here for the art and stay for the hospitality!

In most developed countries, this place would have been flattened and either a new condominium / office building or shopping mall would have been on its place. Kudos to Taichung for keeping a piece of history and rejuvenating it into a cultural space! Brilliantly done too! How the existing structure is fused and modernized is seamlessly done. The downside is the place is not too "internationalised". The exhibitions are in traditional Chinese and there is a lack of English instructions. Takes abit out of the enjoyment of the environment.

Nothing special from outside, but when you enter any hall you will find surprising information, models and photos, it is really worth visition

It's only take 5-7min walking from Taichung Train Station (backdoor). Open-space area and vintage-designed architecture. It previously is a beer/wine manufacture, and later is refurbished into an exhibition center.

From 1916 to 1998, this park was used to be a brewery district where several wine-making factories are located. Nowadays these over 100-year old factories are not brewing alcohol, but brewing creativity and consciousness of preserving local art and culture. You will find many exhibitions, events and workshops held there. Most of them are open to public free of charge. Just few blocks away from Taichung Station, this park is a great historical, educational and inspirational place.
