★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been coming to this eatery for a long time. The meat ball and its sauce is a great combo. Yummy, but the price has gone up quite a lot, from $25 to $40. The taste of the meat ball has changed a little bit from their grandfather's generation. The eating place is small but clean. During the lunch hour, it could be very crowded.

Made with a dough of rice flour, corn starch and sweet potato starch, it looks almost translucent after cooking. Pork, veggies and quail eggs are stuffed inside and gravy is poured on top.
It is commonly believed that ba wan was invented during periods of scarcity. The simple pork dumpling was then a luxurious snack enjoyed only during the Lunar New Year festival.
This shop is one of the famous Ba Wan place in Taoyuan. The most famous place for Ba Wan is Changhua, so most Ba Wan place say they are from Changhua.
It's common that people looking for Ba Wan with pleasantly chewy texture. And this shop is exactly the kind. And the sweet soy sauce with strong garlic flavor is also quite something people looking for.
I'll say this is a pretty authentic place for Ba Wan and always keep our mouth with strong flavor when you leave. Great place to visit!
