★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have to admit I walked in with very low expectations. Dan Dan's branding looks like it's stuck in the 80s. Boy was I wrong. Their menu is nothing like McDonald's or Burger King. It's definitely not a knock off of American style burger place. I was so confused by their menu because fried chicken burger is their staple, and they pair the chicken burger with a Taiwanese noodle soup that's thick and flavourful. It eats a little like a stew. This is a surprisingly good combo because burger+fries is dry+dry, but burger+soup is dry+wet. It's a great transition. Make no mistake though, their fried chicken is fat and juicy. Taiwanese knows their fried chicken. I'm not sure if every Dan Dan is made to order, but mine surely was.
