★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit temple in Taipei! We came here for a New Year ritual and what an experience it was! Probably one of the most beautiful temples I’ve ever been to. Not packed with tourists, so feel free take your time to walk around to be awed by the intricate details of the decoration all over the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was one of the non touristy places in Taipei so it’s awkward for me to take photos while the locals visiting the place were busy praying ? This temple is small, but very detailed and beautiful. It is especially gorgeous at late afternoon to evening because of its lighting. It’s a long walk from Yuanshan MRT Station but it’s definitely worth it! You can visit the nearby Taipei Confucius Temple too while you’re in the vicinity. Overall, it was a great experience and a glimpse of the Taiwanese culture :)

We visited at the same time as a delegation from a new, similarly named, temple in tianan happened to come by for some tea and biscuits. The parade that followed was great to see. Very opulent and fanciful. Great place to visit even on the quiet days!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really beautiful temple and the only temple in Taiwan to received a UNESCO award. It was not in my itinerary but since it was near the Confucius temple, so came by to take a look. It houses a lot of Deities n Buddha from Taoism n Buddhism. Spent an hr here praying and taking photos. Worth your time.
