Daxi Shrine

Although not many people noticed the traces of history, it is still telling the past. The scenery upstairs is beautiful, especially when the sun goes down. ------------------------------- Daxi Shrine was built in the 7th year of the Japanese occupation (1932), earlier than Taoyuan and Zhongli. It is the first of the three major shrines in Taoyuan, but like most shrines in Taiwan, the buildings of Daxi Shrine have been repeatedly destroyed , Almost destroyed, the worship hall and main hall were demolished and rebuilt into Chaoran Pavilion. The base of Chaoran Pavilion is the foundation stone of the former shrine main hall and part of the remains, scattered in Daxi Zhongzheng Park. The pavilion is a reinforced concrete building, but the base is a large platform built of cobblestones This cornerstone is the foundation stone of the main shrine in the old days, and is an important remnant of the shrine There is a stone lion on the left and right sides in the front, the male stone lion on the left, and the mother stone lion on the right

The rare shrine ruins in Taiwan are only stone lanterns, shiba inu and the cornerstones of the shrine for recollection and feeling ~

On July 31, 2020, it was originally Daxi Shrine, one of the three major shrines in Taoyuan during the Japanese Occupation Period. It is now converted into a transcendent pavilion. It is gray. The two Cypress dogs outside are still a bit like stone lions.

The Chaoran Pavilion is too burning. It is very high and cool. It overlooks the entire Daxi Bridge. Although there is no chair to rest, it is a comfortable place.

Look for it, because I saw the concrete building from a distance and didn’t find it was a shrine. I didn’t find it until I compared the photos.

I searched for the shrine ruins and found that the original location was Chaoran Pavilion. Although the objects are changing and the stars are moving, the crocodile dogs, stone bases, and stone lanterns in the front remind that this place was once a Japanese shrine.
