The department was founded in 1958. The purpose of the department is to train cadres and high-level management talents in shipping-related industries (including: maritime industry, international logistics industry, air transportation industry, cargo contracting industry, international commercial ports and airports, government departments, etc.). To implement the principle of close integration of theory and practice, the department set up a master's class in 1990 and a doctoral class in 1997. The strong lineup of teachers provides a cradle for the cultivation of senior shipping management talents.
