Din Tai Fung Taichung Branch - Xitun District

Had the chance to have a lunch there once and it is still one of the best restaurants I've ever visited in Taiwan. Food was amazing. So many different 饺子 I've never had one with the shrimp before. Staff were very kind and service was so quick. Price was normal I guess but it is totally worth it.

Some of the best Xiaolongbao I have ever had. The service was fantastic and the noodles were full of flavor. If you are in Taiwan you have to go here.

You won't have any complaints, delicious as usual. The staffs are friendly and polite, the food are yum ?

Here it is !!! Din Tai Fung... i also believe that it's quite famous in the world too. Finally i can eat this restaurant for the first time in my life. Actually because my girlfriend told me that this is one of the must-eat list in your life (Hahaha ^3^), so i'm gonna introduce to you guys my girlfriend recommendation. 1. Xiao long bao (210 NT / 10 Pcs) This is top recommendation when you come here. At first, i thought what kind of xiao long bao would be this expensive (maybe i eat too many night market affordable food). But after i bite this food, i feel so happy LOL. The skin is so soft, so can even tear it off just using your lips. As on the TV, there are so much soup coming out from the inside, and you will need a spoon to hold it up. This XLB is superb ~ 2. Braised Beef Noodle Soup (250 NT) There are 3 options of the beef part you like to serve in this noodle soup. You can smell this noodle when the waiter serve it to your table hmmmm~ I kind of surprised when i eat the noodle, I never taste this kind of noodle texture before, it's really smooth yet you won't feel tired of it when you eat a lot. The soup is little spicy which is very appetizing, also it doesn't has any "BEEF aroma" maybe in some other restaurant's beef noodle you would taste. So, it's good too... 3. Shrimp Fried Rice (230 NT) Many people said, the more simple the food is, the more difficult to make a tasteful one. I think we can use this "phrase" in this fried rice. DELICIOUS! For me as "fried rice" lover, the rice, egg, aroma, saltiness, shrimp freshness, all of the ingredients mixed in the good portion, i can't stop myself when i started too eat this. Now i know why they dare to put high price for just fried rice. 4. Shrimp & Pork Steamed Dumpling (180 NT) I never eat this food before, because as i know that usually this food is really spicy and i can't handle it. When this dumpling served, the red sauce in it very interesting, so remember to mixed it up first before eat it (maybe there's someone who like to just dip it rather than mixed it~ based on people's interest). It doesn't feel spicy at all, instead it more taste sour and salty at the same time. And the shrimp is very big too, oh yeah this dumpling skin and XLB skin is different, so don't be afraid to order both of them because you won't get tired of eating it. Okay, the conclusion is when you want something more hygiene, nice service, and clean environment, i can recommend you come to this place. And they will refill you the hot tea every time you finish drinking the tea (the tea is good too, it's sugar-free). Feel so relieved coming here PS : remember too make some reservation first, otherwise you have to wait more than 15 minutes if you just come on-site ^3^

Enjoyed a fabulous dinner on a Wednesday night. Dumplings are fantastic. Tried the pork, truffle, crab Xiao Lung bow. My favorite was the pork. ? Also tried a great steamed dumplings. My favorite was the pork+vegetables. Other memorable dishes was the eggplant, cucumber, noodles with pork, and the spicy won tons. Would definitely come back again ?.

As most of you know, I'm much more of a fan of small mom and pop places with homemade, simple yet delicious food, especially in Asia. But my goodness, Din Tai Fung's focus and delivery of consistency, professionalism, and deliciousness is absolutely amazing. Their various dumplings are magnificently scrumptious, the soups are rich and fragrant and superbly seasoned, the noodles al dente (QQ) and yummy, and the service totally impeccable. Go early, sign up for a table, and watch the dumpling creators work their magic, and then enjoy one of the best meals in Taichung.

Din Tai Fung is a well-known chain of Xiaolongbao restaurants in Taiwan. This restaurant is located in a upscale department store. We got there before 11:30 a.m. to avoid long waiting. Foods were tasty and they have excellent service. Only negative thing was we had to scan a barcode and used our phone to place orders on line. For us older folks it wasn’t easy to place the order. In the end we had to asked server’s help to place our order.

Very interesting experience here with the Dumpling culture of China/Taiwan. I wasn't a big fan of the waiting time to get in (45 - 60 min) but once the food starting arriving it was a very fun meal with lots of variety and attention to detail.
