現在隱蔽在荒煙漫草中的頂石閣砲台，其實只剩下地下駐兵的碉堡，由於相關的史料極少，所以可說是基隆最神秘的砲台。
可別看現在頂石閣砲台如此的殘敗，在過去，頂石閣砲台可是和仙洞砲台、二砂灣砲台互為犄角，守護基隆港的安全呢！
但目前形同廢墟，希望能多加維護，另外此處蚊蟲多，前往時建議做好防蚊準備

1-難易度給1顆星-適合各年齡層休閒步道。
2-由於文獻資料極少，是基隆砲台群中最神秘的一座。
從正濱國中門口至砲臺約2分鐘。
3-導航到正濱國中，砲台就隱身在三總的一個角落。
4-砲台荒廢太久，雜草叢生，蚊蟲多，內有住客(蝙蝠)請留意勿驚動。
5-砲台長期遭到廢棄，僅剩營房的殘蹟
營舍內部在山丘底下可以相連接，像是地下秘密通道。

蚊子超毒，噴了三種防蚊液，還被攻擊的相當厲害。
建築只殘餘營房遺跡，看起來洞穴裡面層層疊疊，深不見底，據說已被蝙蝠佔據。很難想像這邊曾經是台灣八景之一的「旭崗觀日」，還是日本天皇的行宮。後來國民政府時期，曾是省長陳儀和少帥張學良的軟禁所，目前只剩斷垣殘壁，覆滿綠色植被，一片荒草的蕭瑟氣象~
