★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful rails-to-trails cycling paths, under trees, past rice fields, through tunnels, and over bridges. What a pleasant afternoon activity for the family. Parking is readily available near the trail, as well as several bike rental shops with options for the whole family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the hidden gems of Taichung. This was a former railway track transformed into a bikeway. It feels so awesome biking the bike lane seeing the Taiwanese landscape passing by, fields of fruit trees, houses and the riverside.
If you do not like renting bike from the shops, you might consider to rent an iBike as well! The closest station in Fengyuan is Ciji Park, also there is a station in Shigang district and three stations near the Hakka Cultural park in Dongshi!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very relaxed bike ride. For a person if normal fitness, regular bicycles are fine so I don't recommend renting the electric moped. They don't have gears and are not ergonomic so you end up just using electric power the whole way. Plus the 12km trail doesn't even use a quarter of the battery so you feel like you're not getting good use value out of it.
