★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not for the faint of heart. Very old school circa 1940s. Its like time travel... Aside from the fresh meats and veggies, you can get tasty local favorites here. I guess its clean enough...lol.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dongmen market surprised me as i arrived Monday and wondered where it was. Left hotel on Tuesday early morning and all the roller doors rolled up and exposed a very localised market with heaps of fresh meat, veges and food stalls..very unique and more to see than you think... goes across road as well and go through all the alleys!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the better kept traditional markets in Taipei city. Lots of conventional vegetable and meats shops around. Delicious food stands make it even better to visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite a big outdoor street market. Local groceries such as fresh meat, fruits and vegetables. What I love most about market like these is other than groceries, there are also food stalls in between where you can grab a bite while browsing. I highly recommend to visit and see the culture for yourself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My best wet market to go to. Take MTR and exit 2 at Dongmen Station. Turns right upon exit near traffic light and then walk straight. Market in first right lane and the opposite side. Just follow the local crowd. Must buy the meat balls. Open only on Sunday. I usually will buy as gifts. Everyone loves those huge meat balls in original, mushrooms, yam and spring onions varieties. But you need to go early to secure them. Run out by 11am.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taiwanese Burrito (Runbing) in Dongmen market absolutely delicious. Be prepared to queue but this is very refreshing and tasty (and cheap). We got the vegetarian one and the smoked burrito. There is a couple of the staff that speak English.
It's a bustling market with lots of delicious and fresh produce and some stall which sell cooked food too.
