★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everyone tells me this Du Xiao Yue is an institution to the DanDanMian not to be missed. The shop was very mordernly renovated. Very classy in fact.
The young men behind the counter were polite and smiling to the customers. They moved around very quickly to take our order slips, prepare the food and give us our change back. They were very obliging for requests for photographs too. Kudos to them.
The only disappointing thing though, was the Traditional Pork Mince on Rice. The rice that day was overcooked in too much water. Resulting in a very disappointing soggy mess. I would have thrown it all away and cooking a new pot of rice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Over 100 years young, this is the original well known dandan noodles soup restaurant. We ordered the noodles and several other local styled dishes. The noodles soup had great flavors, with lots of minced garlic and pork, liked it, except the noodles were kind of soft. The fried shrimp rolls and fried oysters were delicious, not greasy! The pigs kucles were tender, flavorful, but a bit too salty. The bamboo shoots were good too. Overall, reasonable CP!

The story goes that the founder of the shop actually started off selling these small little bowls of noodles as a way to survive through the month, thus, the name 度 (going through) 小 (small) 月 (month). The price is pretty decent, also with an amazing d school ambiance. You can also watch how the chef cooks your noodle Infront of you! Definitely give the braised eggs and pork balls a go! A definite MUST TRY!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tainan din tai fung which sell local food, good quality with fresh ingredients also good services. They also provide different diet preferences now. The signature Dan Zai noodle is difficult to find vegetarian options here but now you can order veggie minced meat which made by mushroom. The yellow noodle (egg noodle) is the most classic version, but you can also try rice noodle (vermicelli). Or if you have difficulties to choose between them two, they has mix version (vermicelli+yellow noodle) for you!
Highly recommended for the appetizer- pumpkin with passion fruit sauce. Really crunchy and delicate! If you are lucky to come in the right season for Areca flower (beatle but flower), go for it! It’s really interesting veggie dish!
They have many branches. But this one was the original store. Worth a try also for vegetarian x:)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can’t stop in Tainan without trying Danzai noodles. This restaurant is the place to go. I also recommend their milkfish soup. I am usually not a big fan of soup but this one is really tasty and the fish is so yummy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A famous Taiwanese restaurant features pork shrimp noodle and pork stewed pork rice. Each dishes are half or smaller size so that you should order and enjoy 2 or 3 different dishes for full size dinner. Each dishes cost about 50 to 100 NTD. Delicious!
