以舊為二鬮庄(當時人數最多之庄)地區得名。
民國35年行政區劃，將原屬大埔里的二鬮、五鬮、十八份及山員潭子段劃為二鬮里。民國67年因里鄰調整，再次將二鬮里併入大埔里內。直到民國87年因開發大型社區，在大樓林立人口驟增的情形下，再次將二鬮里從大埔里中區劃出來。
 Erlangli:
The area was named after the old Erhuangzhuang (the most populated village at the time).
In the 35th year of the Republic of China, the Erhuang, Wuxi, Eighteen and Shanyuantanzi sections, which originally belonged to Dapuli, were designated as Erjingli. In 1967, due to neighborhood adjustments, Erlangli was again incorporated into Dapuli. It wasn't until the Republic of China in 87 to develop a large-scale community, and once the population of the building increased sharply, Erlangli was again demarcated from Dapuli Central District.
