Extension 1 by 橘色 - Neihu District

One of the best hotpot in town. Though it’s pricey but the high quality food and good service worth it.

My 3rd time here and it’s worth every penny, the set was decent and the service was good.

After trying also the same chain in the Xinyi district ,you will somehow found the one in neihu is better in C/P,also more side dish in the hot pot. But do remember to reserve it online in advance! The first floor looks like a bar which is absolutely amazing of its atmosphere. Must try tis hat to cook the soup into porridge in the end!

A pleasant experience here with a handful of friends and family! This is a higher end hotpot restaurant which focuses on service and freshness and high quality ingredients. First things first, make sure you make reservations. Orange Shabu Shabu is the name of the first location. The menu and offering here is essentially identical. The menu was a bit confusing at first but the wait staff was incredibly helpful and patient. Kudos to the training there. They knew how to work with first time guests. There are two kinds of soup bases to select from. You can select from a wide range of meats (beef, wagyu, pork, seafood). Each set comes with a large bowl of fresh vegetables, tofu and other ingredients to cook in the soup base. There is also a set for vegetarians. They provide two types of dipping sauces. One ponzu (think light citrus) with finely chopped/ground daikon. The other is a seasame based sauce. Ask for more if you run out. If it's your first time experiencing hotpot don't be afraid to ask for assistance. Part of the 'fun' is being able to cook whatever you want when want to. Look to spend between 800 - 2000 ntd per person. The price will depend on what type of meats you select and if you choose to add on deserts. A note about seating at this location. The first floor has bar type seating (see pictures) while upstairs has group seating. I sat with a group of 5 (6 total) upstairs.

Super fresh ingredients at a reasonable price range (mostly sub $2000 for seafood/meat combo). Comfortable and spacious seating, good ventilation, terrific service, and elegant decor. Given the seat arrangement, it may not be ideal for big groups though (you'll mostly be talking only to people sitting immediately adjacent to you). They do have more traditional rectangular tables upstairs, but I guess the service won't be the same as the counter seats downstairs.

Orange shabu shabu will never let you down!!! Orange shabu is always my first choice if I want to have hot pot !! The service is so thoughtful and the food here is very fresh! The environment of Extension 1 is so sophisticated as fine dining restaurant but with a reasonable price!

Really good hot pot. Veggies and meat were fresh and delicious. Staff was attentive and helpful, taught how to cook the first time. Rice and udon noodles at the end were super tastey even though we were full. Dessert at the end was tasty and refreshing at the end.

Food was fresh but it's not valuable. The chicken was kind of freaky and...with the price NTD 1300?! The service is just cold with the "necessary" help you to cook. I'm just ok with that. Perhaps there is always better option to go for.
