Eye Travel Taiwan

We had an awesome time exploring with Jeff. He was really knowledgeable about the plants and animals of Taiwan and he did a great job teaching us about the things we encountered. I loved all the jungle games he showed us. He was funny too, which is always a bonus. :) Eye Travel Taiwan has really good prices for the quality of their trips, definitely recommend paying the money for a local guide instead of going it alone.

We had the most memorable hike with Eye Travel Taiwan. An excellent service from our Tour Guide William Ho. He fetched us on time on our meeting place. He made sure we will climb successfully without compromising our safety. He was the best tour guide we had in our International climbs! I took the Taroko One Day private tour in December and our guide Jason Lee was fantastic! He had the entire itinerary planned out, and was very thoughtful in pointing out all the interesting facts and sharing history stories about the gorge and how it came to be. We got to see all the main spots, but he also took us to some hidden viewpoints that only locals would know about. He gave great recommendations for food, was very friendly and had great communication in English, and accompanied us on some of the trails and shared his expansive knowledge about the gorge. Jason is a native of Hualien and has been giving tours for 3 years, so he definitely knew his stuff and made the tour very detailed. It was a very enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area for a trip.

We did a tour with Eye Travel Japan and had the most amazing experience. We were a group of 2 adults and 5 kids (5 and under- they had car seats for all the kids!). Jeff was our guide and was absolutely amazing. He tailored the trip to our needs with so many kids. He was incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable. I could not recommend him more. The communication leading up to the trip was also great!

I really enjoyed my whole Zhuilu hiking trip when I was with Jeff as our tour guide for the day. The whole hike was very nicely planned out by him! The tempo of the hike was just nice, Jeff gave us ample rest for the hike, good enough to not make you feel tired to continue and sufficient for you to continue the hike. While we were resting, he would also entertain us by explaining to us the history of the trail in a very short and concise manner. Besides that, he also shared many interesting and humorous stories of his childhood. Jeff was also very thoughtful. When we reached the end of the trail and had our lunch, he pulled out a picnic mat for us to sit down to have our lunch. He also brought some hot water along to make some drinks for us but during our hike, the weather was too hot to have it. At the end of our trip, Jeff brought us to his favourite part of the beach to enjoy the sea breeze after a long hike. He also brought us to his favourite snack shop!! While you can't expect perfect English from a local, but I must say Jeff's English language was excellent and understandable. Many thanks for making this hike a very memorable one, there are just so many good things to say about it!

Jeff was our River Tracing instructor. He had a great sense of humour, very kind, great at English and has incredible knowledge about the mountains. He was great at adapting the route for our skill level and interest. He always had his GoPro in hand, taking some great snaps and transferred them to our phones before we left. This was without doubt the most fun I’ve had in Taiwan!

This tour exceeded all my expectations. My husband and I booked this tour about 3 days in advance and Eye Travel Taiwan took care of everything from coordinating our pick up to dropping us off in at our Airbnb. Roy was our tour guide and we couldn’t be more pleased. He has 14 years on the job and totally doing this because he genuinely enjoys it. You can tell he loves learning and he’s filled with awesome jokes throughout the trip. This tour group has great connections with Hualien facilities so there are definitely perks of having the whole theater in the visitor center to just you and your small group. Roy also goes out of his way to stop and take pictures for everyone- multiple shots “so you can choose”. He’s seriously the best and I would recommend him to my own family and dear friends. Make sure you bring your own water and dress accordingly- EyeTravelTaiwan emails you with full itineraries of the entire day and what to expect.
