The cozy restaurant, not too big and getting the sense of Japanese food. I guess (not sure)there is no parking lot. The booking is recommended for multiple people or come early to sit at the bar for a single guest ?. The staffs and chef are so friendly, the toilet is super clean with toothpick and mouthrinse. They will always serve you wet tissue, and great smell hot tea(refill) so enjoy the food with finger as much as you can. The grilled ones are the must --- grilled scallops, shrimp are awesome. I wish I could have tried beef, you can order the sashimi by slide of one or two peices with reasonable price. I got a complimentary fried fish with some green tea salt ...superp! After enjoy at CKS memoral Hall then worh heading here for food which is not far but hidden in the small alley. Easy to spot right after the Fireweed Cafe on the main street.

Cute place to get food with a good mix of raw fish and cooked foods. Food came at a good speed though we were there on a weekday.

Cozy Japanese izakaya restaurant with limited seating. Best to call for reservation ahead of time. Service was decent and they were attentive and very kind. Food came quickly even though the restaurant was semi packed. Food overall was decent along with the flavors however, they seem Taiwanified. Didn't really taste that authentic Japanese cuisine for the price . Overall good.

Cozy Japanese style izakaya in a hidden alley. Beautifully preserved historical Japanese style building, the friendly staff even shared a little brochure with the history of this place. Making this a wonderful dining experience. Food is decent but slightly on the saltier side to my liking. Do try to make a reservation in advance as I arrived with quite a few guys in queue. Luckily the wait time wasn't too bad. They have a sister restaurant with similar historical setting and is equally worth a visit.

Extremely efficient and proficient staff. The food is amazing. Incredible. Nevermind the fact that the whole restaurant was converted from a Japanese house... Too cool! Highly highly recommend this place. (also offers Chinese and English menus)

We dined here tonight. We kinda ordered too many dishes but no regret. I am happy with all the dishes. Please make reservation before you come because you make have to wait long time. Highly recommended.

Disappointed. The amount of food are too little for the price, even the fried rice is disappointing, 140NT for seems like kids meal. The pictures in the menu seems to be deceiving of the amount, and even if it’s special, it is too pricey to be eaten. I think the sake have more value than the food. Good service but the food preparation is too long, and while waiting with empty stomach, when the food came, the disappointment was too much.

One of my unexpectedly favorite restaurants in Taipei! We spontaneously booked a reservation the night before, not really expecting much— and yet! The lovely humble Japanese style cottage and the vintage Japanese music set the vibe and tone. While the interior is brightly lit, the ambience is quite warm; you notice the excitement of the patrons around you as small but beautifully plated dishes adorn their tables. Originally we were looking to try sushi, but we ended up ordering a collection of their izakaya items— fried burdock root was delectably seasoned and excellently cooked; the fried rice had a nice smokey flavor. The matsuzuka pork with miso was my favorite dish of the night— tender, sweet, and drool worthy. The curried chicken neck was also quite excellent. Nothing was too salty. We ended the meal with a medium salmon head miso soup, which should really be for four, but in any case who can complain about leftovers!? A great date spot with great service and awesome food. Enjoy!
