The home stay experience is fantastic. As our host only accepts 1 group of clients for each booking, we were the only guest there for the day.( Make sure to get a reservation) We have our DIY activity of making rice glutinous balls which our host cooks with osmanthus honey and fresh osmanthus flowers. We also grind our own tea with various nuts and seeds. Which is fun and enjoyable for both children and adults alike being able to experience the making and cooking your own food process is pretty interesting. Activities that we wouldn't normally do at home together. Our host proudly told us that the land of the whole mountain is pesticide and commercial fertilizer free. Making the fruits and vegetable there organic. We also had the chance to hand pick the vegetable from their garden for dinner. They have various seasonal fruits and vegetable in their farm which they use for preparing various dishes for their guest. We got bamboo shoot as our seasonal ingredient this time of the year. As the owner of the home stay used to the the Imperial chef of the former president Chiang Ching-kuo. The dinner spread is fantastic. I'll definitely go back again the host is really friendly and sincere, this home stay is really a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. A great place to unwind and enjoy the nature. Cause we only stayed 1 night there, we didn't get to explore the hill areas at the back of the homestay, ( Yes, the host owns the mountain) will be interesting to see how the host actually gets their seasonal ingredients. Will definitely allocate more time there when we go back. There's so much to see and do, we got to see Fireflies as well at night too. :)

tl;dr: A delightful, down-to-earth b&b, with beautiful views and delicious homemade food and drinks, hosted by a humble retiree-turned-farmer and his friendly staff. Nestled in the lower mountainside of southern Miaoli, lies a small, welcoming fruit-farm-slash-bed-and-breakfast. Each of the colorful cottages and newly constructed glass homes feels unique and inviting, perfect for any type of occasion. The recently remodeled cafe sports a pair of "Bali beach beds" with a picturesque view of the rocky river below, the green mountain tops, and the beautiful sky above. The home-cooked food is prepared from organic and local sources, including fruits and vegetables from the b&b's own pesticide-free farm. They've taken the traditional three-cup chicken recipe and enhanced it with more tender, boneless, cuts and chopped oyster mushrooms for a delightfully delicious dish. The end of the meal is punctuated with a sweet, tart strawberry cider vinegar, made in-house from strawberries picked from a near by farm. None is this would have been possible without the gracious host and his affable staff. The host painted a brief yet colorful story of his life, the progress of the farm, and the hopes for the effects that the b&b will have on future travelers. The b&b's improvements are supported by the 4-person staff, including the cement work and construction of the glass houses. They also make visitors feel welcome with DIY activities, like making mochi, and engaging in cordial conversations like old friends do. Definitely one of the best places to visit, especially to avoid tourist traps.

One of the best places I’ve stayed in Taiwan. Hospitality level is through the roof. Supreme quality cuisine w/o any preservatives. Awesome environment which provides the closest experience to nature. Highly recommended with family and close friends. Will certainly visit again soon. It was wonderful having a great weekend there! Surrounding by the natural environment was relaxing in both physical and mental way. The owner and staff were very nice! They willingly shared their work stories and introduced us nearby spots and food in detail. Personally, I love their flavorful cousines so much, which are made of local ingredients taken care by the owner and staff. Tasty!
