Last day in taipei decided to have a unique dinner. Searching through maps and bumped into gen creative. It's a small restaurant with some japanese style and a open kitchen. The menu is very simple lots of variety on dishes. Squid, chicken, fish, veggies, beef, pork etc. As starter I took the fried miso soup with quinoa and main dish squid. First bite was from the house very fresh and light Fried miso soup had a unique texture the combination with fried flour and the miso soup was great but did filled up quite fast. Presentation was creative! The quinoa is personally my favorite. It's a light dish and had all kind of texture inside nutty, crispy and quinoa softness also unique flavours. Sometimes it doesnt go too well but that wasnt in this case. Presentation was clean and simple From the house I received a Choi sam with cheese sticks and chinese pickles. The cheese sticks were homemade which taste really well. The choi sam it self was bit salty side. Though the pickles would be more salty. Presentation was creative The squid dish looked fabulous and with some fried pops which had to mix together. The fried pop wasnt my personal favor. Especially when the pop soak the juice of the squid makes the pops really salty. But the squid was delicious. Alrdy starting to get full but had to try their dessert to experience the full course. The homemade cheese cake was really good with the moose. Not too sweet just good ! And the last dessert from the house which wasnt really necessarily needed since I was alrdy full, but for chocolate fans it's a delicious dessert to end the night with. One of the best restaurants in Taipei! The food was delicious! I loved how creative the menu was and how the flavours just blended so effortlessly. My favourite dishes were the chicken and the chocolate 85 dessert. The onion dip was mind blowing as well! Service was also spot on. We had a lovely sweetheart called Lucy who was professional and polite. Unfortunately, neighboring tables were rather loud and rowdy. I understand it is a small restaurant but the noise was unbearable and I couldn't hear the other person speak.

Absolutely great place to check in, food is phenomenal and value above its price. They are very creative chefs and pay much attention to details at the food they make. We were there for our birthday and we are very satisfied with everything. There will be more visits to this restaurant. This could be a Michelin star restaurant in the future, so go there before it gets super crowded!! Recommend roast chicken breast! Definitely no ordinary chicken you may have in your life!

This is our kitchen away from home (but WAY more sophisticated) , Gēn Creative has been our go to place for many years. We love everything they put on the menu, from starters to desserts, they really have made good efforts on serving high quality and very comforting foods ❤️ We love & respect them, and have been loyal fans since day one. We don’t normally like sweet things, but we will eat whatever desserts they feed us! Mel (beautiful pastry chef) is the queen of sweetness/desserts and her creations are magical. The cakes and ice creams she makes are out of this world!! So simple, genuine, pleasurable and divine, that makes you wanna go back for seconds and more... (?) We love sitting at the bar, where the cooking actions happen, and we also enjoy being placed at the private corner, where we could tuck ourselves into another food-indulgence mode, so we could quietly sink ourselves into the wonderful flavors and aromas, and indulge a scrumptious night without much disturbance.

Really liked this restaurant and would suggest you go with more people like I did (we were 5) so you can pretty much order everything on the menu! For the food and service quality, price is very reasonable. I liked all the dishes especially the dessert. Maybe not so much the fried chicken but overall, highly recommended!

Food, taste, presentation, innovation, fresh-everything was amazing. Potions are large-meant to be shared -service was excellent. Chef was very attentive to the kitchen, personally checked every dish that came out. A amazing restaurant. Price is well below what their peer competition is charging.

Nena by Gen Creative is the best American style dessert cafes in Taipei! Milkshake, ice cream, sorbet and all kinds of muffins, cookies, baked goods to choose from, makes for a very enjoyable snack / dessert option ❤️ Also super friendly staff with great service!

I hardly give 5 stars on google review. No complaints about this place. Infused with origins of Guatemala, Korea, and Taiwan, the 3 main chefs have formed an unforgettable tasteful combination. The service, the ambience, and the food is and has always been spectacular. The details of the taste is amazing with every dish. This place deserves more than just a Michelin plate. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants to go. The “Tom Kha” fried soup is a must try.
