I joined 9days tour de tour Jan1, 2020. I have done endurance sport like, marathon and Ironman before, so I knew 9 days it could be physically challenged. I don’t know what to expect so I hope my long story sharing will help. The tour was well planned by Giant Adventure. Every day Min our tour guide go over the route in detail, breaks and what to expect, rather, high traffic, windy or hill climbing, she taught us how to handle them. The break is 10-15km, so we have time to use restroom, refill water bottle, eat for recovery. We are always had support van in front and back, along with a bike guide in front and back. The pace was control so we did not push too hard or flat and safe descending hill. The bike in back make sure you don’t get lost or in any trouble. You will always feel safe and well take care of. Lunch, dinner and hotel are all well planned. You just need to enjoy riding from one place to other eat, play (ride) and rest. 9 days I got the ride along the beautiful coast line from north to south, picture perfect sense of 台東, and mountain.... you got the chance to know other from Taiwan, Hong Kong, US and Singapore.... The journey was so nice with the people and places you come across, I enjoyed it so much that I did not think about work at all which never happen to me in my 20+ years of work life. It is highly recommended for everyone, you will just need basic bike handling skill and somewhat active physical condition. You will improve with the journey, everyone learn so much include myself. A tour bike was included but if you are cyclist enjoy and own a nice bike, bring it with you or I will recommend you to upgrade which you will appreciate and enjoy.

Unprofessional customer service and inflexible accommodating tourists. I was trying to participate one of their cycling around Taiwan tour and couldn’t finish their online reservation over the weekend. I tried calling but they were closed so I called first thing Monday morning and the lady says she could not accommodate a single room reservation for my preferable date. Her excuse: they are “afraid”that all hotel reservations are fully booked. Afraid? Come on, she didn’t even made an effort checking availability. they were still accepting reservation over the weekend and it was not full at all, even after their so called “deadline”. Participant 29/40.... Cut off date? Sorry, they refuse you whenever they feel like doing so. VERY unprofessional！ Btw Giant Adventure is a travel agency, which has nothing to do with Giant bicycle shops in Taipei so you can not make reservations through retail stores. My suggestion for cycling Taiwan tours: Choose other tour agencies and skip Giant Adventure. Reply: Sudden requirement? Your website was showing availability on Sunday and all of a sudden the next day “Monday” 9:05AM you can’t book hotel anymore, you can’t arrange meals anymore. We are not talking about adding 5 more people where you really need to grind things up. Ok, I do understand spaces are limited for your special group rate on hotels that you make your profit, but your phone representative didn’t spend any time trying to accommodate me for future dates. It is not about availability, it is about your customer service and you completely missed my point. Thank you for your invitation, but I can’t trust a company that is not attentive to details and messes up a normal inquiry request.

Joined a tour in early November 2018 and we all had a wonderful trip! From the city to the rural rides, the trips were all well planned and executed, with a lead rider and a rear rider, plus a van tailing further behind to provide water, snacks and immediate repairs should they be needed. The staff were all friendly as and had an excellent level of knowledge to satisfy our group’s constant questions! The accommodation was all outstanding and our guides remained present to help us out if we needed any further help. Really can’t ask for more from an overseas cycling trip. Great times!
