The historic Guanshan Old Railway Station was originally established in Yulilong by Taitung Sugar Co., Ltd. in the 8th year of Taisho (1919). In 1937 (Showa 12), Lilong Station was renamed "Guanshan Station". Due to the smooth flow of the eastern main line of the railway and the completion of Guanshan Station, the population of Hakka people to migrate to the eastern region is increasing day by day, and the Amis Degao Panliao Society has also moved eastward on a larger scale. By 1980, the new Guanshan Railway Station, which was 100 meters away from the old station, was officially opened, while the old Guanshan Railway Station was discontinued. The old railway station was completed in the style of a farmhouse in northern Japan. It is the only remaining European-style building during the Japanese colonial era on the main railway line in the east, and it is of great preservation value. It has now been designated as a "Historic Building" cultural asset in Taitung County, including the office buildings used by the nearby former railway. In April of the 1994th year of the Republic of China (2005), thanks to Taiwan Railway's inclusion in the renovation plan, the Taitung County Government Urban and Rural Development Bureau fought for renovation funds, and finally this old station was reborn and finally restored to its original appearance.
