The characteristic of Hakka opera lies in its unique singing and tune. It is mainly based on folk songs and minor tunes. It is divided into: first, the "three-legged tea-picking opera" of a small drama; and second, the "Hakka drama" of a major drama.

The Music and Drama Center has been closed for renovation since 108 / December. The closed period is about 2 years, and then it will open for exhibitions, but the outdoor Hakka theme parks next to it are still open to visit as usual.
