It is a bit difficult to go without a car, but if you cross the street to the left of the Gukwang Bus Stop on the left of Jilong Train Station, take Bus 101 in front of the Bistro and get off at Hepingdo Park. Get off and walk for about 400 meters on the narrow road toward the shipyard on the right (almost all, you will find a two-way road, go to the left) and you will find the parking lot at the entrance of the park. At the park ticket office, on September 28, 2021, you can buy a ticket for 80 NTD per person (you can get a discount of 20 NTD per ticket at the souvenir shop inside) and enter. It takes 30 to 40 minutes to go around the entire park, go to the right at the first fork and go towards the observatory. And there is a souvenir shop building around the corner. The 2nd floor is a restaurant and the 3rd floor is an observatory, but it was not open when I went. There is also a saltwater pool, where you can swim. Please bring your swimsuit and gear in advance. If you can't decide, there is also a swimsuit shop in front of the shower room of the souvenir shop. Just looking at the scenery from the Hepingdo Observatory Pavilion is refreshing and satisfying.
