Hepingdao Seawater Swimming Pool

A natural ocean swimming pool with magnificent view!!!

Really liked this place. Get there early to avoid the crowds and the heat. Really well maintained facilities with cool showers costing NTD 10 for 5 minutes. The adult pool is about 3 m deep and the very young kiddy pool is about 30 cm deep.

Newly renovated visitors centre has a breastfeeding room, Muslim prayer room, a kiosk selling swimwear and beach toys. There is a shower facility accessible from the beach which has several cold and hot water stalls. Hot water stalls are NT$20/5min and the cold water stalls are NT$10/5min. A hidden gems for families with young kids. Definitely will be back.

You can see many fish in the pool. The water is transparent and looks clean.

I loved this pool!!! It’s so natural and clean because it comes in from the ocean and there’s tons of fish. On a weekday it’s really relaxing. Bring goggles though!

The place has a great sea pool. Awesome views. Great views and modern amenities. I would’ve given it 5 starts however it is REALLY annoying when the beach closes at 5pm. Which is the most beautiful time of day when the sun is just setting . Also why are the showers not free? It’s just water ! They have a water spot where you are advised to rinse your feet before going to public areas but it is gross as the water pool does not have fresh flowing water! Imagine hundreds of people rinsing their feet in that small pond. Besides during COVD time this is highly unhygienic. Potential cesspool of germs ! That being said the place is great for a swim but just could be better.

In my opinion, it is amazingly excellent. The entrance fee costs only 80NTD for adults 40 for kids for swimming with tropical fishes, relaxing on the beach all day long. It is located a little outside from Keelung station about 15min drive 30min by bus. Although there are some parking lots, capacity doesn't look good enough so that I saw a long line up of cars waiting in front of the parking lots. We went there end of September 2021, it was hot sunny day but the water was colder than I expected, soon we got used to it though. The outside pool features natural reef and creatures living in there, the depth looks like more than 6 feet therefore life jackets should be required if you are not good at swimming and the life jackets are available for rent from 200NTD. There is only a few restaurants so I recommend you to bring foods or drinks by yourselves.
