★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sturdy 130 year old fort. Worth a quick look if you are in the area. Ticket from the more famous (and interesting) Fort San Domingo will also give you entry to here. Ticketing staff may give a free tour.
The fort was built by the Chinese government with help from a German architect. The outside wall uses a special kind of concrete mixed with iron shipped from England for extra defense. The cannons were removed and melted down during the Japanese occupation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a small fort that is not very impressive. There is no great nor grand fortifications. Neither is there any cannon. And they charge a fee to enter if you are a tourist. There are nicer places to go in this area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There's a walking path from Fisherman Wharf to Hobe Fort. It's a stroll up a short slope to the shrine, quiet and calm woth lots of old trees and two Red Silk Cotton trees - blossoming in Spring. Beautiful crimsons.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of forts in tamsui. It doesn’t have much other than fort layout itself but very peaceful place. It has many educational materials for kids to explain the history and the purpose of the fort with Interactive tools. 15 mins away from fort san Domingo on foot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly and welcoming staff. Interesting place for a quick visit if you’re in the area. Kids love the interactive activity even though they had no clue about the answers.
