★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Though I have only sampled a few items from the menu, I really think there is a lot of good food on offer here. The staff are super friendly and the coffee is pretty damn good. It’s in a nice quiet neighborhood which is ideal for conversational brunches and just hanging out with friends. I am definitely going back in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tasty American flap jacks served with butter syrup. Bacon was great too. The surprise was definitely homemade diced hash browns. Eggs were up to par. Oh and it came with a free coffee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hot Cakes is a cosy family friendly all-day breakfast/brunch restaurant. It has a casual "our house is your house" feel and the staff makes everyone feel right at home.
The Acai bowl is a very healthy must try. It's fresh and a feast for the eyes and tastebuds.
The pancakes (flapjacks) are big and fluffy and doesn't taste like premix like most pancakes in Taiwan do. No, these taste of homemade goodness. Yep, they're THAT good. And then there's the bacon, crispy and glistening, just as it should be.
I liked the fact that there was a little photo booklet that came with the menu so one could see exactly what you are ordering. Also, an English menu is always a plus.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decent quality and dining experience. Not necessarily American or comforting per se, but the food did tickle some of my cravings for pancakes. Could use some heavier seasonings and cream. Highlight of the visit: super fresh tasting acai bowl and the dachshund pup wandering around in the restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best American and Western breakfast place in this area of Taoyuan. Coffee is delicious, staff is friendly, and the food is a wonderful reminder of back home. Chocolate chip pancakes were perfectly moist with melty chocolate chips embedded throughout. Sunny side up eggs were perfect and my bacon was a little chewy rather than crispy, but still good. Oh, and the homemade diced potatoes were seasoned to perfection! Overall a great spot to hang with a coffee and some delicious food on a quiet side street in Taoyuan City.
