Just because NOBODY speaks English there. I am not coming from an English speaking country but English at least in Hotels expecting to be able to communicate. About the concierge in Hotel. I have difficulties setting A/C panel and told that can't set temperature as is central unit. What a fool to avoid showing me just because lack of language barrier!

Comfortable rooms and beds, very friendly staff. Free bikes to rent are great way to get around. A shirt walk to convenience stores and food stands. Also some coffee and snacks in the afternoon. Breakfast has decent choicie - though some dishes were lukewarm. The hot pool is OK - nothing too fancy and not much of a view. For the price a good value.

I enjoyed it. It's not super fancy, or particularly nice, but there is wifi + breakfast. The pools/hot springs are okay, and their showers are also supplied with the hot spring water. You can also cook your own eggs in water (out front).

The Hoya is an excellent place to stay. Rooms are large, bedding and linens are of very good quality. Breakfast buffet is one of the very best we ever encountered. The staff is very kind, very helpful and efficient, even if we struggle with our Taiwanese language skills. Our compliments to many of the staff and especially to Ben, one of the concierges to assist us so well as he spoke very good English. The hot springs spa was very relaxing and like everything in the resort, it was very clean and well organized. Best way to reach the Hoya when traveling by train is to exit at Zhiben station and take bus 8129 (or was it 8159?). It is only a 10 minute bus ride. Only regret is that the Hoya restaurant is not open for lunch and there is very limited eateries open in the area at that time.

It is a old hotel but it provides good service. The price is also friendly. The hot spring is very good, but you need to dress the swimsuit. Naked is not allowed. The breakfast is varies. Full of vegetables and delicious rice which is famous in Taitung. There are our door cafe seats which you can drink coffee and have a talk with friends.

Excellent hotel; the hot spring rooms have hinoki wood, which provides with a very pleasant aroma.

The only good thing was the bed, it was big and cozy. Old facilities, there was dusts on the table, and around the kettle. There wasn’t curtain in the bathroom so when we took a shower, the water was around the floor. The smell wasn’t good in the room, i think its from the carpet. I felt it really dirty. I think hotel management should consider about the facilities also the cleanliness. Breakfast was the worst, just a few choices although the restaurant was big. And the food was not good. Its really bad compare with smaller hotels we ever had breakfast. Some spoon was still with something like food on eventhough its at the place “clean spoons”

This was probably the worst hotel/resort I have ever stayed at in my life. The room has a pretty icky carpet that is stained essentially everywhere. 2 of the 3 small towels and 2 of the 3 large towels provided were stained with questionable orange stains and one even had a dead bug folded in it! The shower is outside the bathtub, which is fine except the floor slants toward the wall and the drain is NOT by the wall so you end up with a giant soapy puddle there. Also the white shower curtain was yellowing and was also too long so a good 1-1.5 inches of the bottom of the shower curtain were sitting in a puddle of shower water. The handle on the bathtub was originally silver and it had turned a VERY speckled black. EDIT: the breakfast foods taste sub-par at best. However cleanliness needs SO MUCH WORK. I spent more time looking for clean plates and bowls than I did eating. I found hair wrapped around the food. Honestly, this dining hall/restaurant should be ashamed of itself. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my worst enemy. This place is disgusting. Do not waste your money.
