★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A big sized station, new, connects to the main railroad network, has a small mall nearby, has enough food and attractions for you to wait and relax.
The mall is quite worth the shopping experience, with food stalls for the top two customer floors and outlets for most sporting brands.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small town. Public transportation leave much to be desired-if it ever exists. Sharing bike (such as the U bike) is a wonderful ride for you to enjoy this interesting town.

Just like the Hsinchu Science Park symbolizes Taiwan's technology industry, the Hsinchu High Speed Rail Station is also sufficient to represent a pearl on the Taiwan High Speed Rail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The station is clean, modern and very efficient. I'm always surprised to reach the platform, tickets in hand, just within a couple of minutes after crossing the main entrance. But it offers a poor selection of stores. It's really a station to catch a train and escape. If you arrive (or leave) at noon or at dinner time, you have to be satisfied with a convenient store, a sushi express, and a MOS burger. That's it, but the station fits its main purpose perfectly. At last, the shuttle bus service is very convenient to bring you back to Zhubei.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Currently you need reservations and due to social distancing the trains have very limited capacity. Book ahead as we arrived on a weekday, but had to wait for 3 hours for a train - Aug 2021
The station itself is modern and clean. There is a Starbucks, tea store, Mos burger, Subway, 7-11 and a doughnut store. At the moment eating is only allowed in a few cafes and seating is very limited.
For more relaxed dining there is a half empty mall next to the station that has a few places to eat
