後方香客大樓聽說很不錯，有機會很想住看看！

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 廟方開基媽祖神尊，相傳為福建莆田萬梅堂禪師林義濤，在乾隆七年從湄洲媽祖祖廟請來，稱為「湄洲祖廟正三媽」。其乘座鑾椅、鳳冠霞披、錦繡袍裙、三寸金蓮履、繡花荷包囊都是當時隨該金身帶來。
傳說其頭髮是媽祖生前所遺留三束之一，為目前全世界僅有的媽祖真髮神尊，蓋另外兩尊真髮神尊已毀于文革，其珍貴程度堪稱為國寶等級！寶島台灣果然是保存中華文化與傳統宗教信仰的強大寶庫！
非常靈驗且古色古鄉的老寺廟，絕對值得來走走參拜！
According to legend, Lin Yitao, the Zen master of Wanmeitang Temple in Putian, Fujian, was the founder of the temple’s Mazu deity. He was invited from the Mazu Temple in Meizhou in the 7th year of Qianlong and was called the "Matsumiao Zhengsan Ma". The seat-luan chair, phoenix crown xia piping, splendid robe skirt, three-inch golden lotus shoes, and embroidered pouch were all brought with the golden body at that time.
Legend has it that his hair is one of the three strands left by Mazu during his lifetime. It is currently the only Mazu Zhenfa god in the world. The other two Zhenfa gods have been destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, and their preciousness can be called a national treasure level! Treasure Island Taiwan is indeed a powerful treasure house for preserving Chinese culture and traditional religious beliefs!
Very efficacious and ancient temples in ancient towns, it is definitely worth visiting!

相傳這尊神像上的頭髮，就是林默娘仙逝後所留下，而媽祖出巡前一定要綁好髮髻才允許起駕。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 創建於清代乾隆7年(1742)，時稱天后宮或長和宮。由於它位在舊竹塹城城外，故亦稱「外媽祖廟」，以有別於城市之天后官（內媽祖廟）。廟的正面臨北門街，朝向舊北門城出口，東面臨鄭氏家廟，南可至城隍廟，北上可達舊港，是當時新竹與大陸區域貿易的貨物進出口門戶，因此在嘉慶24年(1819)新竹地區從事貿易批發的水郊各地鋪戶，由郭尚安、吳建邦等八人出面倡導捐建該廟，從此成為水郊聚會議事之所。
